The Which Hand Game
A popular game that you can play with your dog is called the Which Hand Game. This game will help hone your dog’s olfactory acuity. To play this game we suggest you put a treat in one of your hands. Close your hands into a fist. Then, let your dog choose which hand has the treat by holding it in front of your dog. When your dog can choose the correct hand, give your dog the treat. If not, encourage your dog to give it another try until it gets it right. Never discourage or scold your dog for choosing the wrong hand.
Chase Bubbles
Another fun game you can introduce to your dog is chasing bubbles. It’s a very simple and cheap game yet it can be downright entertaining! Who doesn’t like bubbles? You can even call your kids to join the game.
Shell Game
To play the shell game you’ll need a treat and 3 or more cups. Place the treat inside one of the cups (the cups have to face the table) and shuffle them. Ask your dog to find the treat and choose which cup has it. It’s a great mental exercise that will help sharpen your dog’s memory!
Household Chores
Who says dogs can’t do household chores? You’ll be surprised to know that even dogs can help you around in the house! Yes, they are not just companions they can be your assistants too if you train them well. Examples of chores are teaching your dog to fetch like your pair of slippers or opening the refrigerator for you. These are simple tricks that your dog can do and can be very helpful for you at home. Of course, you have to know what their limits are. You can’t expect your dog to do complex tricks.
